So this morning I wake up and I realize there's no way in hell i will be able to go to work with my hair in the state that SHE left it. So I e-mail the job and say I'm taking a person day.
And a personal day it was... I call the salon and wind up talking to the owner. Who convinced me to come back in the shop to 'fix' the hair. I said I would come in BUT that I would need someone else to do my hair- someone who specialized in natural hair. Because I had lost ALL confidence in the stylist that did my hair.
He tried to be diplomatic and said that she would fix it and that he would be there to watch. But i had another plan. and that was to go back into the shop and either HE was going to do my hair himself or I was going to get my money back. As I walked to the shop I was talking to myself... 'stay calm, stay calm, smile and stay calm'
That all went out the door as soon as I walked through the door! The stylist hardly looked up at me. The energy was FUNKY so of course I jump into "OH HELL-NO" mode. she had the
audacity to try and tell me she gave me what I asked for, and it's her job as stylist to give a client what they wanted. Are you KIDDING ME????
Well I had hardcore evidence that she was wrong, all you had to do was look at my hair. HOT MESS it was. it actually was an even HOTTER MESS than when I first got it done. So we discuss (argue) back and forth until the owner comes in and takes over.So now to the good part. He literally chuckles at my hair. literally and immediately states the obvious. This needs to be cut! He washes my hair and mid way asks me what do I think about black hair, I hesitate and then he says what about a light brown. I say yes with excitement at the thought. but still pretty heated as the 'other stylist' stands on the side... so he puts the color...
...fast forward, he starts to cut! I was surprised that I didn't feel anything but pure relief. (maybe the drama was a blessing in disguise) He proceeds to twist the back all the while showing the other stylist what to do. And then.... he leave me :( but there's really nothing left for her to do but twist it. And I'm feeling confident that she can't really mess that part up (especially since that's the only good thing that she did on Saturday)
so the finished product... it's short and a little crazy looking (because I have to leave it twisted for a bit so that it sets) but the color is fierce. i luv it! i think I'm gonna be able to rock. or at the very least I'm gonna try to rock it hard.
But they think they slick. they didn't tell me what color they used so when the new growth comes in I will hav to go back otherwise my color will look crazy. BUT i must say I don't really mind. Despite the drama... I was very pleased with how the situation was handled. Even though I thought she was bananas to try and say thats what i wanted. she maintained a level of professionalism and the shop owner def stepped up to the plate.
I'm all natural! for now at least :) tee hee
